It’s always great to have brunch with a great girlfriend! Over delicious turkey sausage, eggs and pancakes, (YUMMY!) my friend, Felicia, who is a beauty aficionado, came to our little bruncha-lunch with her favorite hair goodies!!!! As she is always soooo put together. Nails! Hair! Clothes! BRAIN! Everything! I take all of her beauty cues seriously!
Just so you know, I’m going to have Felicia share her review of two of the products she brought to our meetup and then provide my unsolicited “never tried it” review.
Eden Body Works®
1. All Natural Coconut Shea Pudding Soufflé - washing product
Felicia: I am an avid deep conditioning fan so I use this product as a part of my deep conditioning mix. It leaves my curls manageable and soft, which helps with styling. The yummy scent gets a major thumbs up from me. I am not a wash and go fan for my 4b-c ish hair but I would recommend the product for that purpose as well if that works for you.
Olivia: Without knowing anything else about this product I guess it will be great for a driest of dry, super curly/kinky/coily girl (Type 4a-c)! I’m also pretty impressed with the ingredients list! There are some things I can’t pronounce… which always makes me think “How natural can this be if I can’t say it?” ;-) But the list is not long… so that’s good I think!
2. All Natural Coconut Shea Pudding Soufflé - styling product
Felicia: This has now become my "go-to" styler for everything from twist-outs to puffs. The consistency is creamy with a light scent. I find that my twist outs or natural curls are super defined, moisturized, and full of volume with this product. I loved that there was no build up from the use of the product Another added bonus for me is the holding power. My curls have been frizz free and defined during rainy and humid days and workouts as well. The best part is the price point! Each of the products retail for under 10 USD and are in fairly large bottles/jars.
Olivia: THE SMELL IS AMAAAAZZZIINNNNGGG! The Pudding Soufflé has the consistency of thickest fattiest most delicious custard! Excuse me but this was over brunch after all! This curl activator seems like it would be great in a 4b or 4c moisture retention regimen. My advice is to use it in a 'LOC' method to seal naturally thirsty Type 4 hair.
What is the 'LOC' method?
L - Apply liquid to the hair - I usually mist with water and leave in conditioner.
O - Follow with a not so viscous oil that your hair likes. I happen to enjoy jojoba oil or grape seed oil.
C - Add curl activator cream Coconut Shea Pudding Soufflé. Just a dollop should do as it appears rich and creamy. Be careful not to use too much as product sitting on top of your hair is not the business.
